Talent Recruitment Program (PST)

In 2007, COLFUTURO launched the Talent Recruitment Program (TRP), known in Spanish as Semillero de Talentos (PST). This initiative was created to identify students with high academic potential from all regions of Colombia and to empower them to take an active and informed role in their postgraduate application process.

Semillero de Talentos

The PST provides support—at no cost and for up to three years—to final-year undergraduate students, recent alumni (who graduated within the last four years), and exceptional faculty members from public and private universities across the country. This support focuses on the search, preparation, and application processes for master’s or doctoral programs in top-tier universities worldwide.

Each year, the program identifies a new cohort of high-potential professionals through a rigorous selection process. Participants must demonstrate academic excellence, typically reflected in high GPAs, as well as additional academic and extracurricular achievements such as scholarships, publications, research experience, and volunteer work. This thorough evaluation ensures that the selected group is composed of individuals with strong leadership skills and a proven record of achievement.

Currently, the PST has 1,500 active participants. In 2025, 80% of them engaged in activities specifically designed to strengthen their capabilities and help them achieve their academic goals.

COLFUTURO’s 30 years of experience supporting Colombian professionals pursuing postgraduate studies abroad, the organization has identified the main challenges faced by the country’s most outstanding applicants: insufficient proficiency in a second language, limited access to information on how to select high-quality universities, and the misconception that financing graduate studies abroad is unattainable.

The PST program addresses these challenges through comprehensive support that includes educational workshops, personalized counseling, essay reviews, academic guidance, and webinars. These webinars provide detailed information on how to plan for graduate education abroad, covering academic offerings, requirements, application processes, and available scholarship opportunities.

During the year, 300 PST students were admitted to foreign universities. Of these, 208 were selected for COLFUTURO’s Loan Scholarship Program (PCB), representing 10.2% of the total number of selected applicants. Additionally, 13% of PST participants belong to ethnic minorities, including 161 Afro-Colombian and 32 Indigenous students.
