Educational Counseling and International Relations

The Academic Counseling area oversees the support services that motivate and advise Colombian professionals seeking to pursue their life project through graduate studies abroad. This is done by a series of complimentary activities that deliver information and tools to aid the interested parties in selecting their programs based on personal, academic, and professional interests.

To that end, we offer a series of services accessed via our website:

Group Academic Counseling. These counseling sessions are held by field of study, on-site meetings in Bogota, or virtual sessions for residents of other cities around the country.

Information talks on the Scholarship Loan Program. On-site and virtual sessions for students and professionals interested in learning about the conditions and features of COLFUTURO’s Scholarship Loan Program to finance graduate studies abroad.

Information webinars. Ongoing events with universities, government representatives, and international institutions providing information on academic offers, application processes, and sources of financing.

To make COLFUTURO more visible in the local and international arenas, we also participate in education fairs and maintain permanent contact with universities through talks and workshops directed to members of their academic communities who will be candidates in the call to the Scholarship Loan Program (PCB).

The Academic Counseling area also reviews and assesses the graduate programs to which our candidates apply in the PCB call for applications. We constantly monitor publications of international entities that rank, accredit, and, evaluate universities, faculties, and programs. After a detailed analysis, this information is included in the ValPro tool developed by COLFUTURO, which enables assessing each of the programs that compete in the selection process.

Through our International Relations area, we maintain permanent communication with renowned universities abroad and with representatives of governments throughout the world. This has allowed us to negotiate and enter into more than 120 cooperation agreements, thanks to which our PCB beneficiaries have the possibility of accessing 100% scholarships and tuition reductions ranging from 10% to 75%, as well as other support. Due to such collaborations, more than US$3,000,000 in scholarships and discounts for students are awarded annually.
