Language Program (PI)

In 1996, COLFUTURO established its Language Program, (PI for its Spanish acronym), which provides the opportunity to study English, French, Italian, or German, either in academic or labor-related programs, in leading universities in nine countries where COLFUTURO has agreements, offering tuition discounts to those who apply through COLFUTURO.

This way, we support the need to learn a second language, which is of paramount importance in today’s world, given the labor and academic opportunities that are offered to those who already speak a second language.

To date, over 2,700 Colombians have accessed these benefits, of which the following stand out:

Guidance. Experts at COLFUTURO help interested candidates during the entire admission process, free of charge. Information talks are offered twice a month: the second Saturday of the month at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom (joining from www.colfuturo.org), and the last Thursday of the month at 5:00 p.m. through Instagram Live at @colfuturo.

Coverage. Currently, COLFUTURO maintains 28 agreements in 9 countries: the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Malta, Italy, France, and Germany. These agreements have been entered into with top-notch institutions and in intensive programs, thus ensuring the students meet their learning goals.

Quality of institutions. The universities and academic institutions with which COLFUTURO has agreements have specialized language teachers trained at the Master’s level in language teaching. Furthermore, they are located in diverse and strategic locations, many of which are in small cities, where students can practice the language more frequently.

Program costs. The cost depends on the destination and duration of the program. Visit the cost simulator on our website; web/sección “Programa de Idiomas,” for more information.

It is worth noting that COLFUTURO does not offer financing for this program, but rather manages a discount ranging from 6% to 50%, granted directly by the institution to the student, after being selected in any of the calls for applications of that specific year.

Calls for applications. There are four calls for applications during the year (January, April, July, and September). The only requirement to apply to the Language Program is to be at least 18 years old.
